Leonard Woodard left this earth on October 13th, 2024 with his loving wife, Louise Woodard, faithfully by his side. Leonard was born in Oklahoma City on Dec.18, 1946, to Henry and Faye Woodard, and was a graduate of Meeker High School in 1965. Leonard was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 344 with his father and brother. Being a Woodard, Leonard was known for his welding skills and pipefitters knowledge. He always enjoyed working and never knew how to take a break. In fact, he worked for Ohpaki up until his last days. Leonard had a great passion for horse racing. In his 20s and 30s, he raced as a jockey, and at one time won the title “Jockey of the Year.” His passion didn’t end there as he later became a well-known horse trainer, which eventually led to him winning “Trainer of the Year.” Leonard was extremely proud of all of his horse racing accomplishments, and loved to reminisce with his family and friends. After marrying Louise in 1994, he often spent many weekends and holidays having the time of their lives at Lake Eufaula fishing, boating, and riding seadoos with family. Leonard is survived by his wife, Louise Woodard, of the home; his children Laura Woodard Benham and son-in-law Craig Benham of Guthrie; Melissa Woodard Henshall and Ronnie Burchette of Meeker; Dale and Rhonda Seaman of Warr Acres; Donna Rundo of Tulsa; Dianna and Carl Ross of Del City; Doug Seaman of Del City; David Seaman of Del City; and his Aunt Ruby Loveless of Noble, OK.
