, wife of Cameron Carpenter, went to be with the Lord on March 19th, 2010. Kay was a beautiful wife and loving mother to all her family and provided joy, hope, and comfort to all who knew her. Kay was a Registered Nurse who dedicated her life to helping people and to bringing healing into all of the patients’ lives she touched.
Kay was born June 17th, 1947, to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey and Katherine LaRue of Dallas, Texas. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Linda.
Kay married Cameron Metz Carpenter on February 8th, 1964 in Dallas, Texas, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Their marriage lasted 46 years and brought them the joy of two sons and one daughter, and seven grandchildren. Their oldest son was Nathan Metz of Halstead Kansas. Their daughter was Katrina Ann of Newalla OK. And their youngest son was Sean O’Neal of McLoud OK. The marriages of their children also blessed her life with two Daughters-in-law from the marriage of Nathan and Sean – Nancy and Alida Carpenter respectively.
Kay Carpenter was also blessed with 7 wonderful grandchildren –with two grandsons Blake and Mason (from Nathan & Nancy); with three grandchildren (from Katrina Smith) two granddaughters Sarah and Allison, and one grandson (Cameron Smith). (From Kay’s youngest son Sean and his wife Alida) came a granddaughter Shawna and another grandson John.
Kay was a Registered Nurse with almost 30 years of experience in the medical field. She worked for the past few years at Mid-West Regional Medical Center as a cardiac nurse.
Services for Kay will be held at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, OK at 10:00 AM on Thursday March 25, 2010 with graveside internment at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5001 E. Highland, Shawnee, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM.
