She married James Smith on 18 July 1970. They had one child, James Edward Smith. She had three children from a previous marriage, Cheri Bermudez, Todd Michael Bentley, and Andrea Riebel.
She had worked many jobs, hospital receptionist, procurement clerk, mother. Data input clerk and secretary. She retired from Tinker AFB in 2003. She was a Tutor for Literacy Link teaching adults to read and was a volunteer Tutor for Whiz Kids teaching children to read. She enjoyed camping and fishing. She was a big Thunder fan
Jonell is survived by her husband James, children Cheri Bermudez, Todd Michael Bentley, Andrea Riebel and spouse Danny, and James Edward.
9 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. And a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Nellie Garrett.
