John Paul Evans, 80, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2016 at his vacation home in Yuma, Arizona. He was born November 25, 1935 in West Frankfort, Illinois to John Stanley and Helen Louise (Hays) Evans. At a young age, John’s determination to be successful was one of his greatest assets in life. He was united by marriage to Faye Osburn on July 4, 1953 in Saline County, IL. They were blessed with three children, J. R., Robby, and Victoria. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family and the Lord.
John and Faye own Crown Paint Company in Oklahoma City, OK. John was a man of many talents; he designed sterling silver and turquoise jewelry, brewed beer and wine, was a professional photographer, and built his own house boat. He lived his life to the fullest and wasn’t afraid to seek new adventures. John later became a pilot. He enjoyed traveling the countryside with Faye by his side in the RV. They traveled to all seven continents. John believed in Luke 12:48, “to him, who has been given much, much is required” which is why he became a member of the Masonic Blue lodge, Eastern Star, and the India Shriners organizations.
John is predeceased by his parents, and brother, Dude Evans. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Faye, of 63 years; children, J. R. Evans, Robby Evans, Victoria Nickelsen and her husband, Nick; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
