Georgia Ann Sanders passed away on November 11, 2022, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, on December 25, 1932, to Eddie Miles Green and Hazel Ann Savage Green. The family moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, where she grew up and met the love of her life, Troy Lee Sanders.
Georgia and Troy married at her parent’s Edmond home on August 28, 1948 and celebrated 60 years together before his passing. She worked much of her life in retail, including many years at the Chickasha, Oklahoma Walmart business office. A wonderful cook, Georgia taught all three of her children to cook for which their families are very grateful.
She is survived by brother Paul Woodrow Green (Karen) of Edmond, OK; son Troy Lynn Sanders (Peggy) of Burlington, NJ; son Terry Lee Sanders (Sharon) of Midwest City, OK; and daughter Joy Arvelia Reid (Gaylond), Enid, OK. She also has five grand children; Tim, Topi, Robin, Amy, and Stephanie, six great-grand children and two great-great-grand children.
Georgia was predeceased by her husband Troy, parents Eddie and Hazel Green, sister Eddie Lee Walker, brother Travis Dale Green, and sister Carrie Ella Dean Green.
Raised in the Assembly of God Church, Georgia later attended the Baptist Church near their home in Anadarko, OK. She will be buried at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City, OK, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Her family is so very grateful to the fine staff at Arbor House Assisted Living Center for their tender care of her and also to Traditions Hospice for all of their excellent guidance and support.
Everyone who knew Georgia will think of her whenever they see a butterfly.
