Francis was born November 26, 1927 in Pocasset, Oklahoma and attended Gracemont High School completing the 10th grade. Not long after she left high school she started working at Cattleman’s Restaurant and worked there for many years. One of the things she was most proud of is her dressing that she made there. The owners Percy and Gene Wade were so impressed with that dressing I am told they still use her recipe. She married Joe Hughes who was from Red Oak, Oklahoma in 1951 and was married to him for almost 20 years. She loved to walk and gave her avid walking credit for her long life span. She loved animals especially her dog Jerry who passed away from a broken heart when she had to be moved to a care facility.
Francis is survived by her son, Joe Hughes Jr and his wife Lynn Marie Hughes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His grandaughter Jessica Nicole Hughes and grandsons Derek Hughes Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Joedon Hughes and wife Holley Hughes Midwest City, Oklahoma and Jimmy Micah Hughes of Bethany, Oklahoma.
