Edna Marguerite Jantzen, 67, went into the loving arms of Jesus on September 27, 2009. She was born January 24, 1942 in Ashland, KS to Winton & Cora (Holler) Cook. She was a dedicated & loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She married the love of her life, Everett Jantzen in 1959. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Edna was a Boomer Sooner to the core. She was known to even cut one of her frequent shopping trips to Walmart short in order to get home in time to watch an OU game. When one of her kids needed discipline, she had a habit of going through each of the kids names in order before she finally said the correct name! She collected angels as a reminder of God’s protecting angels around us. She always had a can of Diet Coke in her hand. She enjoyed watching wrestling matches on TV. She attended and cheered as many of Joe’s football games as she could. She enjoyed crafts of any kind and Bunco games with her co-workers of Mercury Insurance. Edna and the family often humorously reminisced about her love for mice and water slides!She is survived by: husband, Everett; children, Coralee (Corey) Chew & husband, Richard, Samuel Jantzen & April Delaney, Martha Burns, Elizabeth Miller & husband, JR, Joseph Jantzen & wife, Suzie; 7 grandchildren—Julia, Robin, Bobby, Cory, Christina, Emily, Caitlyn; 3 great grandchildren—Cameron, Michael, Caitlynn; brothers, Milo Cook & wife Marge, & Tom Cook & wife, Olga; sister in law, Leona Nusz; brother in law, Bill McDonald; numerous nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by infant son, Everett Lee Jantzen, Jr.; parents; brother, Robert; sister, Pat. Arrangements under the direction of Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery, Del City, OK.
