During her younger years Darla played competitive Tennis and loved horseback riding. She worked for many years at Tinker Air Force Base and enjoyed quilting, traveling, reading, shopping, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Darla was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Chambers; children, Carole Howe and Michael Eugene Chambers; brothers, Onis and Max King. Survivors include her children, Mark Chambers and wife, Mara; grandchildren, Christopher Howe, Sabrina Howe, Stephanie Stephens and husband, Bryan, Matthew Tassey and wife, Veronica, Aaron Chambers, and wife, Shannon, Michelle Bratcher and husband, Tyler, Michael David Chambers; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Kenny King and wife, Reba.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p..m. at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel and also on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
