Bonnie Evelyn Sanford, 83, Del City, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in her home after a lengthy struggle with cancer. She was born on June 25, 1931, in Marlow, Oklahoma to Auby Henry and Ruby Dee (Hollis) Crouch.
Bonnie married Marion Eugene Sanford on December 23, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Bonnie was a retired hair dresser and an active member of Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church of Del City, Oklahoma.
Survivors include her three children, Barbara Ferris and husband, Fred of Norman, Gary Sanford and wife, Charlie of Midwest City, Linda Clark and husband, Mark of Oklahoma City; siblings Mary Jo Lawrence and husband, Jack of Del City, Maxi Crouch and wife, Linda of Lawton; and numerous nieces and nephews; ten grandchildren, David Ferris and wife, Merideth, Laurie Ward and husband, Jeremy, Crystal Hoehne and husband, Barry , Drew Sanford and wife, Audrey, Amanda McClung and husband, Jonah, Heather Benedix and husband, Donnie, Brian Clark, Daniel Clark and wife Dena, Jared and Caleb Clark; twelve great-grandchildren Logan and Mallory Hoehne, Hudson and Raegan Ferris, Taylor, Avery, and Dylan Benedix, Addison Ward, Shane, Kade, and Kody McClung, Pike Sanford, and one foster great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her son Larry Gene Sanford; and brothers, Bob and Jerry Crouch.
Bonnie was a wonderful Christian lady who loved God and her family. She loved to spend time with her family – the more the merrier. She was also an avid quilter, enjoyed teaching her sewing skills and loved to make quilts for her family. Family and friends also loved her homemade peanut brittle and homemade cornbread dressing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church Building Fund. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday December 27, 2014 at Sunnylane Baptist with burial in Sunnylane Cemetery.
