Alexander Paul Kerensky

Alex was born to Alexander and Agnes Kerensky on June 27, 1935 in Mineola, Long Island, New York. Alex is predeceased by both parents and his sister Patricia Williams, as well as his in-laws Flo and Carl Kurtty and sister-in-law Linda Ransford.

Alex married Glenda Flo Ware on November 16, 1955 in Plains, TX. Alex, Glenda and the kids resided in Texas, New Mexico, and South Dakota during Alex’s military service before settling in the Oklahoma City area.

Alex entered the U.S. Air Force on March 11, 1953 and quickly proved to be a skilled aircraft mechanic and trusted leader. Alex served in Vietnam from 1967-1968 and retired on April 1, 1973 as a Master Sergeant. After a few short careers, Alex worked at Tinker Air Force Base for an additional 8 years of service before retiring again in October of 2002. In his later years, Alex was eager to provide living, first-hand history lessons to younger generations and remembered his time and travel in the military with much reverence. Alex also enjoyed having canine companions, gardening, and tinkering in the garage. If there was something to be made or mowed - Alex was the man for the job.

Alex will be greatly missed by his three children, Crystal Kerensky Turner of San Leon, TX; Christopher Kerensky of Norman, OK; and Karen Kerensky Cripps of Galveston, TX; grandchildren Angela Ramirez (Cesar) of League City, TX; Grant Smith (Miriam) of Del City, OK; Katie McLane (Justin) of Santa Fe, TX; Kristen Kerensky of Oklahoma City, OK; Kaylan Kerensky of Midwest City, OK; great grandchildren Logan, Christian, and Juliana Ramirez; Katharina, Gabriella, Leia, and Gavin Smith; Melody and Robin McLane; brother-in-law John Ware (Jimmie Diane); and sister-in-law Marilyn Gillis (Dale); along and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff of Good Shephard Hospice of Oklahoma City for the wonderful care and compassion they provided Alex and family during his final days on Earth.

We will celebrate Alex on Friday, June 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Meadowood Baptist Church 2816 N. Woodcrest Dr. in Midwest City followed by interment at Arlington Memory Gardens 3400 N. Midwest Blvd. in Oklahoma City.
