I have so many fond memories with Barbara. We spent every weekend together at work for several years and I always would tell her "I want to be just like you when I grow up" (even though I'm fully an adult now, but when we met I was only 21!). This was actually one of the last things I said to her the last time we spoke and that means so much to me, that she knew how much I respected her and looked up to her. She was one of the toughest people I've ever met and her training me at work greatly influenced me to becoming the clinician I am today. I will never forget getting snowed in together at work, getting stuck at Smokey Bones and my husband having to come help us with her car because of some weird setting she accidentally activated and laughing our butts off about it, her bringing me literally amazing food ALLLL the time and trying to teach me recipes (I never did become a better cook despite her trying), all of the memories and stories she would share about the family, and her being there to support me through some of the hardest times of my life. Barbara was always a listening ear, a kind heart, and will always be one of the most influential and important people in my life. She will be greatly missed, and I will miss our deep life talks and all the great advice she would give me. My deepest condolences to her family, I've loved hearing about you all for the last decade and feel like you're all family to me too now. 

As a kid Aunt Barbara and I would spend at least a week together every summer. She always introduced me proudly as her “ god-daughter”. Endless adventures of clamming, fishing, boats that broke down, little cars that drove too fast , water dragging. Haha. Water dragging was what happened when you thought a chunky kid could get up on water skis. I usually bodysurfed  until Aunt Barbara realized. It still makes me laugh. Trips to JFK to get fancy fish and lost shoes in the great South Bay , more than once. We both knew Bonnie would be upset, yet we laughed and maybe even laughed a little louder. Just between us… Jack thought it was hysterical that I never returned home with shoes. Rest In Peace Aunt Barbara. Thank you for all of the good times and memories. I will continue  to treasure them.

Our family will not be the same without Aunt Barbara.  I was happy to have love and support from her and she always surprised me by making me laugh with stories from her past (meant to be life lessons, I think!)  
I know we will find comfort in each other and get through this together.  Aunt Barbara has made a difference in so many lives. I’m grateful to have been a member of her family.  Danielle and Kiera I am so sorry for the loss of your mom.  She was so proud of both of you and always kept me up-to-date on you and your beautiful families.  She adored all those grandchildren-----we will all miss her very much.
