Winnie Ruth Wallace, of Decatur, passed away February 20, 2017, at the age of 79. Her visitation will be Wednesday, February 22, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Doug Moody and John Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wallace is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Iula Sams; five brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Thomas Burl Wallace; sons, Steve (Wanda) Wallace and Jesse (Monica) Wallace; grandson, Blake Abernathy; brother, Wendell Sams; and sisters, Nettie Johnson, Annie McCoy, Frances Richey, and Janie Bates. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wallace enjoyed fishing, quilting, her flowers, and gardening. She was a member of Caddo Congregational Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Roselawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
