Funeral service for Bob Edwards, 72, of Hillsboro will be Saturday, August, 13, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Pullen officiating. Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Edwards, who died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, was born June 19, 1939, in Morgan County to Ollie and Lottie Edwards. He was a retired farmer and truck driver for Edwards Trucking. He attended Fish Pond Baptist Church. Bob loved life and his family. He loved to walk. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael Steele; and brother, Joe Edwards.
Survivors include three sons, Mark Edwards of Texas, Darrell Edwards of Arkansas and Steven Edwards of Decatur; seven daughters, Judy Steele of Decatur, Linda Messina of Trinity, Rita Hazel of Decatur, Wanda Edwards of Huntsville, Lysa Edwards of Hillsboro, Debra Henry and Ashley Edwards, both of Decatur; stepsons, Anthony Roden of Houston, Texas, and Steven Roden of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Faye Nash of Decatur; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
