

Visitation will be on April 10, 2025 from 1pm to 3pm at Roselawn. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 3pm at Roselawn with Pastor George Sawyer officiating. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
Woody is survived by his wife Nancy E. Wheeler, 3 Children Cassie Kelley, Myles Wheeler (Angie) and Susan Harris (Jeffrey) 5 Grandchildren Elizabeth Smith, Dylan Wheeler, Daniel Kelley, Meri Wheeler, and Mia Wheeler5 Great grandchildren 4 Bonus Children George Satterfield (Debbie), Valerie Edge (Ronnie), James Satterfield (Beth) and Johnny Williams. 23 Bonus Grandchildren 2 Sisters Sandra Hughes and Sharon Borden (Brad)
He is preceded in death by: his parents Willard and Alice Wheeler,
2 Bonus Children David Satterfield and Suzanne Harris and 1 brother in law Al Hughes.
Woody was born September 8,1942 in Decatur, Alabama to Willard and Alice Wheeler. He joined the Navy at 17 and spent 3½ years serving his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He later ended up living in Indianapolis where he ran a successful business for 40 years. During that time he became a born again Christian on July 15, 1984. He became a Pastor and did a lot of Mission trips, one of which he helped build an orphanage in Russia after the Iron Curtain came down. He later returned back to Alabama to enjoy his retirement and spend time with family and friends and serving the Lord.
Pallbearers with be Joe Phyler, Chris Cody, Frank Berry, Darius Borden, Ricky Brewington and Dwight Tiggs.
