Visitation will be Sunday at Roselawn Funeral Home. The family will gather from 1:00 to 1:30 pm and receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm. A graveside service will be at 3:00 pm in the Decatur City Cemetery with Minister Dorothy Ann Webster of Central United Methodist Church officiating. Margaret was born in Decatur on April 30th, 1920 to James Monroe Bloodworth and Viola Reel Bloodworth. She graduated from Riverside High School in Decatur and received a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Florence State Teachers College. She started teaching in the Morgan County School system and later was hired by the Decatur City School system. She taught for 36 years, the majority of this time as a 4th grade teacher at Somerville Road Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 67 years, Guinnie Puckett, four sisters, Aloiv Tomlinson, Edythe McCulloch (Emerson), Edna Rogers (Charlie), Wilma Sims (Bennett), one brother, James Bloodworth (Libby).
She is survived by a son, James G. Puckett (Emilie) of Gainesville, Florida and a daughter, Margie Rose (Eddie) of Decatur. Two Grandsons, Clark Puckett (Susan) of Pensacola, Florida and Ed Rose of Decatur.
After retirement she and Guinnie enjoyed traveling around the country and square dancing with square dancing groups in Decatur.
Margaret had a special passion for bridge and played several times a week at Riverside Senior Living up until the last few weeks of her life. She resided at Riverside for the past seven years.
She was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Allen Wilson, Richard Christensen, Jim Bloodworth, Jerry Chiarella, Ed Faulkner and Ed Rose.
