Lydia Tucker Hale

Lydia Tucker Hale, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Her visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Bobby Newman officiating. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Marlin Maxie Tucker and Era Inez Tucker; son, Jeffery Eugene Pressley; sister, Teresa Veronica Thomas and brother, Garland Maxie Tucker.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Allen Irby Hale and nephew, Steven Anthony Thomas.

Lydia was a loving mother and wife; she dearly loved her extended family and adopted family. Lydia loved sharing with children and encouraging them to be their best. She enjoyed painting, collecting antiques and going to antique auctions. She loved to go shopping and watching football (Alabama and the New Orleans Saints). Lydia loved to cook and decorate and took great care of her home and, finally she loved her kitty cats (Peaches, Sheba and Duke). Lydia will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
