Louis Calvin Russell

Louis Calvin Russell, 73, of Decatur, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015. A celebration of his life will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Webster and Pastor Rickey Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Byrum Collier.

Mr. Russell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Collier Russell; sons, Tim Sharp (Kathleen) and Greg Russell; daughters, Traci Sherman (Windell), Angie Boegh and Amy Herron; brothers, Royce Russell (Linda) and Harold Russell (Sharon); sisters, Gloria Thompson, Joyce Ivey (Pete), Nell Lentz (Tommy), Martha Mooneyham (Joe); mother-in-law, Mavis Collier; sister-in-law, Linda Thompson (Steve); grandchildren, Byrum Sharp, Blake Sharp, Russell Murphree, Stephanie Cox, Dawn Sherman, Dana Sherman, Daffiny Allen, Emily Murphy, Laura Cowan, Katelyn Murphree and Sydney Herron; 12 great-grandchildren and his faithful dog, Maddie

Mr. Russell was born on June 22, 1941 in Morgan County to Cecil Calvin Russell and Maggie Arlene Clark Russell. He was retired from Air Products after 37 years of service and enjoyed fishing and spending time with this family.

Serving as pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
