It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elton H. Reeves, Jr. from Priceville, AL on June 2, 2024 at the age of 86. He was a “one-in-a million,” husband, father, grand and great grandfather and friend.
Visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, AL on June 4, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with Grave side services on June 5, 2024 at Roselawn Cemetery 1:00pm.
Elton is survived by his wife Linda Blagburn Reeves of 47 years, his children Jim Reeves of Decatur, Fawn Reeves Glenn of Muscle Shoals, Debbie Williams(Mike) of Priceville, Tim Childers(Kathy) of Priceville, Kenneth Childers(Julie) of Cullman, and Johnny Childers(Christy) of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
He is proceded in death by his parents Elton H Reeves Sr. and Lily Holloman Reeves, and 1 son James Childers
Elton grew up in Decatur, AL and attended Decatur High School. Mr. Reeves graduated from Auburn University where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and went on to have a successful career at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center for 32 years; where he worked many important space missions including the Apollo mission. After retirement Elton served in his community on the Priceville Planning Commission, Priceville Sewer Board, and the Wheeler Basin Natural Gas Board of Directors.
Elton will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and valued his family more than anything.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews Jayson McColgan, Cyle McColgan, Drake McColgan, Eric Wright, Owen Rust, and Patrick Andrews. Honorary Pallbearer Grandson Johnny Childers.
