Morrisey, William Walter, (Bill) age 94 of Bethany Village, Centerville passed away peacefully Sunday, December 28, 2014. Bill was born February 8, 1920 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, to the late William G. and Cecelia (Krueger) Morrisey. In addition to his parents and older brother Howard, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Jane (Clausen) Morrisey. Bill is survived by his son, William D. Morrisey (Margot) of Powell, Ohio; daughter, Mary M. Mariscalco (Michael) of Centerville; sister, Betty Dallmann of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy C. Nelson (Wally) of Longwood, Florida; grandchildren, Michael W. Mariscalco (Kari Rudinsky), John A. Mariscalco (Jennifer), Anne M. Mariscalco (fiancé, Stephen Behm), Peter F. Morrisey, Adam H. Morrisey, Elizabeth M. Urban( Brian Girard), Stephanie U. Desai (Shaleen); great-grandchildren, Ryan, Drew, and Claire Mariscalco, and Dylan Desai, and 16 nieces and nephews who loved him as “Uncle Bill.” Bill spent his early years in Manitowoc, Wisconsin as a Boy Scout, swimmer, and lifeguard. He graduated in 1937 from Lincoln High School. A 1943 Economics graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Bill was a member of the men’s rowing team and the Delta Upsilon fraternity there. He was a former Vice-President of Marketing and Sales for Lau Industries of Dayton, National Marketing Manager for Ducane Industries of Columbia, SC, and a realtor with George A. Smith Reality of Centerville. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Wisconsin, and a lifelong Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. An avid reader and naturalist at heart, Bill relished walking and hunting with his dog, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed his woodworking projects and spending time in the kitchen. Bill was known for his Christmas cookies, which became a family holiday tradition. He felt blessed to have been able to “enjoy each stage of his life” with family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in the Grand room at Bethany Village on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:30 pm.
