Thomas Mangold

S.F.C. Thomas Mitchell Mangold, age 61, of Fairborn, Ohio and retired Army veteran, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. He was born on October 9, 1961 in Dayton, Ohio to parents Herman and Patricia (Westfall) Mangold.

Tom was preceded in death by father, Herman Mangold and brother, Michael Mangold. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Carrie; children, Christopher (Kate) Mangold, and Sierra (Rowdy) Campbell; grandchildren, Michael, Charlie, Calie, Bryce, Nelly, Beck and Link; parents, Pat (Kenneth) Gore; and siblings, Karen, Cindy and Kenny Jr. (Lisa).

An Army Veteran of twenty years, Tom served as an Army tank commander and later as an Army recruiter. Following this, he went on to work for 16 years until retirement at the Dayton Post Office.

Tom enjoyed sports such as golf, watching NASCAR and going to Reds games. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family, especially the grand-babies.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday June 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at

The Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. A Memorial Service for Tom will begin at 3:00 PM.
