Thelma Virginia (Hardy) Hisey, age 91, of Fairborn, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020. She was born in New Hall, West Virginia on October 20, 1928 to Allen Joshua and Maude Lenora (Malone) Hardy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph E. Hisey and her brother, Allen Hardy. Thelma is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Pulos and Sharon (Robert) Winkle and five grandchildren, Derek (Joanna) Pulos, Dan (Amanda) Pulos, Christa (Tim) Bowles, Sarah (Christopher) Adkins, and Amanda (Bradford) Botti. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Danielle, Jace and Cole Pulos and Wesley and Rowan Adkins. She is also survived by her younger brother, Mason Hardy, many nieces, nephews and special friend, Betty Looney.
After Thelma graduated from Valley High School in Lucasville, Ohio, she began a career at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where she held several jobs in the area of financial program planning and analysis for a variety of Air Force programs. She “retired” as a Financial Analyst Supervisor in the Sensors Division and began a new career as a private contractor for Ball Aerospace. After her second retirement, Thelma became an enthusiastic genealogist and enjoyed many library excursions with her group of genealogy friends.
Family will greet visitors at Aley United Methodist Church in Beavercreek, Ohio from 9 AM until time of services at 11 AM with Pastor Bill Halter officiating. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Aley United Methodist Church in her memory.
