I am saddened that I just learned of her passing through her father's recent obituary. She was my 2nd grade teacher and have fond memories of her. She will be missed by so many.

Out of town for 3 weeks 

I know Jerry, Penny,and Mike more than Shelly and Mike.  I played softball against Jerry for years and also did a lot of gutters and downspouts  for all the boohers at one time or another. When we did the gutters for Shelly and Mike over off Darst, Shelly came out and offered us some drinks. She was very personable and seemed happy a lot. My dad hired Penny's Mike at Stivers High School many years ago. My prayers are for her immediate family and exstended family. Glad to here you are freinds with Pastor Siler and Cornerstone. May the Most High God, The God of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob bring much comfort and the sincere knowledge that you will reunite with Shelly in Heaven.  Though she is young she left an indelible mark on a lot of kids and freinds. I'm sure she will be missed but knowing that great reunion in the heavens is a reality and though she is not in our presence anymore she will be in our future.

Dear family of Shelly-

To live without recognizing blessings is to live without meaning.  Your lives will always be full of meaning, due to the heart touches of your sweet daughter,wife,mother,sister,in law and aunt.  

The heart never loses its memory and this is the cavity for which she will reside in each of you. Find comfort in knowing that  this is an endless compartment for love for your blessing. We have learned this by our own losses and we know this to be true.

Shelly was a special person. Never heard her say a bad word about anyone.  Like some of the comments said ,we at Temple Christian were a tight knit group. I remember all the sport trips and camps we attended. Even after high school I was at Wright State with her and got to see her cheer for the Raiders. 

I can tell by her Facebook page she absolutely loved her family.  Saw her at another classmate's funeral and loved catching up with her.
I know you are rejoicing in heaven,but we sure miss your here. 

May God grant Eternal Rest to Shelly, and may He comfort all of you as you grieve such a tremendous loss.  My prayers have been with you these last months and will continue to be. 

Mike, words seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the loss of Shelly. My heart is with you and your family. 
Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same.

My prayers and condolences to the entire family. The Heaven has truly gain an angel. My prayer is that God give you all strength during these tough times. There is no hurt that the Heavens can't heal.  

Shelly and I met at Temple Christian School when we were in  third or fourth grade. I moved away my ninth grade year,  but Shelly kept in contact with me for many years afterward.  I have such fond memories of her.  She was a wonderful person and I am so sad to hear of her passing.  My deepest condolences to all her family and I pray that the peace that only the Father can give will comfort you in your time of grief.  

Shelly was an amazing coach. She was one of my first ever gymnastics coaches and she taught me so much. She will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family 

Every memory I have of Shelly is of an upbeat and pleasant christian young lady.  I don't recall ever seeing her down.  I am greatly saddened at her passing and feel the earth is a poorer place with her absence.  My prayers are with her family as they grieve at this time.

I was introduced to Mike and Shelly through my good friend Becky Wagner. I then began working for Mike at Certa. What a wonderful family to work for. I can remember Ty and Troy coming in with their baseball uniforms on and thinking boy they’re going to be lady killers one day! Shelly was such a kind and beautiful woman. She will be missed by all. I will keep Mike and her boys in my prayers!  XOXO

I knew Shelly from our days at Temple Christian, we were a small school; but a big TCS family. So sorry for the loss to the Black family; cancer is a terrible thing, but rest assured that she is not in pain anymore. May God comfort her family as well. 


I am so very sorry for your loss I worked for her and her sister when I was a senior in high school at booher blacktop she was so nice and I felt like I was doing something important because that’s how she made me feel. She will be forever missed prayers to the family!

I met Shelly when we were twelve. We saw each other about 6 days a week all the way thru graduation.  And in a small school like Temple you felt like family.  I want to tell you how much Shelly's friendship meant to me and I've written and erased this three times now. Nothing I can say seems adequate enough to tell you what this loss is to me.
I can tell you Shelly loved her family. When we'd see each other in a store someplace we would stand and talk for at least an hour and it was always about family.  Her boys. Mike. Her parents and sister.  We'd compare notes about our families challenges and successes.  
She was a good friend, she will be missed and I look forward to the day I see her again in Heaven.

Our deepest condolences go out to all of you who loved Shelly- family and friends.  Our prayer is that somehow God will be glorified through all this.  

We grew up together.  Went to elementary and high school together.  She was an encourager,  always cheering someone on.  She had boundless energy and was always smiling or laughing. Didn't surprise me that she went into teaching.  I'm sure there were plenty of children who benefitted from her guidance.  She will be missed. 

Shelly was a wonderful person.  We always looked forward to seeing her each week at gymnastics.   She will be missed.

Our hearts are aching today from the news that Shelly has lost her battle with cancer.   She was a wonderful person who had an incredible passion for life and her "boys".    We will always remember her for her positive attitude and her warm smile.  She always made us and everyone around her feel welcome.   Our prayers are with Mike, Ty, and Troy.
