We are deeply saddened to recently find out about Shelby. He is remembered as a genuinely nice person and will be missed dearly. Local 82 has lost a great brother and mentor.

I just learned of Shelby's passing this afternoon. He will surely be missed. I always enjoyed talking to Shelby after the union meetings. He was a walking wealth of history and old stories. Good men like him do not come along every day. Rest In Peace.

Just discovered too late about Shelby's death. Shelby was a joy to be around and a fine union man. He represented his local and fellow union brothers to the highest standard in all he did. You're a great guy, Shelby and we're all the lesser with your passing. God be with you, Shelby and enjoy your rest from the life's heavy toils.

Shelby, Shelby, Shelby, Who would have thought you would make the big trip before me.  Shelby & I were Boy's Club members.  We had a lot of fun there.  Many stories of good times.  When I transferred to Belmont High School from Stivers in 1957 I heard someone yelling at me in the hall saying "Curley, Curley, Curley".  Nobody at Belmont High School or Stivers ever knew or called me Curley.  The only people who knew me as Curley were Boy's Club members, because that was my name there.  That had been a long time ago in 1957.  I turned around and there was Shelby.  We had a really good reunion right there as there were many special Boy's Club Members and workers and we were enjoying and remebering many of them.  
    Shelby, since your making the big trip before me, I expect you to pave the way for me and make my journey as smooth as possible.  See you when I see you.  Curley.

It is hard for me to remember a time when Shelby was not a part of our family. In addition to the caring thoughts and prayers of family and friends, we have volumes of memories that I am sure will serve as a great source of comfort in the days ahead. Chris called this morning to inform me of the passing of Shelby. It is with sad hearts that we post this message.

Charlie loved Shelby and so have we. He was such a special person that has been there to support Charlie and his family throughout the years. 

We will be forever grateful for the help he has given over the past five years with the C. E. Toon Scholarship Fund. His love for Electricians Local #82 has been an inspiration to many. 

We will always remember his laugh and joyful personality. Chris said, "November must be a special month for that is the month that God calls the best."

Charlie passed five years ago on November 3rd and now Shelby." We believe that he is right in his heartfelt observation. 

May  God be with each of you in the days and weeks ahead and May God bless Shelby and Charlie as they renew their friendship in this New Life that they have been called.
