Shane Michael Galt, our beloved son, brother, father, partner, nephew and friend, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 9, 2019. He was born September 11, 1988 to Michael Galt and Vera Bowie in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Miami Valley Career Technology Center class of 2007 and received a degree in business from Sinclair Community College. He worked for J.D. Legends, perfect for his strong work ethic and quick wit. Shane was a good person, always thinking of others, a great friend and his love for family was paramount. Shane was a devoted Steelers, Reds and Arnold fan. He touched all of those who he encountered in such a positive way, brightening the day with his laugh and humor. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Galt, grandfather, William Galt, grandparents, Edward and Irene Jewell. He is survived by his loving fiancé, Casey Truett and their beautiful daughter, Lily Monroe Galt. Also survived by his mother, Vera Bowie (Carl), sisters Allyson Cole, Peyton Galt (Eli Pratte), and Elizabeth Galt; grandmother, Mary Ann Galt; step-mother Connie Cook; aunts Nancy Hankey (Bob), Patty Billett (Jeff) and Kathleen Galt; Linda Rehment (Jack), Rhonda Newman (Roger); uncles Darryl Jewell (Rose Sebouhian), Douglas Jewell (Georgia) and Denver Jewell (Rita); cousins Megan, Jessica and Robbie Hankey, Aisha, Alicia, Alana Galt-Theis, Haley, Zachary and Adam Billet, Jesse and Barbara Jewell, Marlee Layh, Leslie Sewell, and Ashlie Blair, Timothy Purvis; Eric and Candice Clemons; Darryl, Jason, David and Mary Jewell. Shane had countless friends, too many to mention, all of whom he cherished dearly. Shane’s special friend and business partner, Josh Lockhart, dear friends Lenny Zepp, Scott Conrad, James Bunn, Josh Kuhbander and Ricky Barker and Casey’s loving parents, Tracy Truett (Mike) and Jeff Truett (Marlies). Visitation is Friday February 15, 2019 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Road Dayton, Ohio 45429, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 pm.
