Our cherished Mother and Grandmother passed to her next life’s adventure on December 9, 2022, at the age of 93. When Ruby made the decision to go into hospice care, she apologized for the sadness we would feel. But she was firm in her intention and desire to reunite with husband John, family and dear friends. We take great comfort in imagining her celebrating with them all, knowing that she surely will be enjoying some heavenly bourbon.
Ruby’s faith was mighty and essential. Because she perceived everyone as a child of God, she was especially brilliant in befriending strangers. She lived her faith through expressing abundant love, knitting us sweaters and caps, tending her gardens, keeping her bird feeders and bird baths full, community volunteering and giving generously to those in need. Her greatest gift to our world was her sharing her joy and knowledge of music, as church musician, choir director, music teacher in Saville elementary school and piano teacher.
Ruby was predeceased by her beloved husband John Webster; parents Gustav and Freda Marohn; brother Arvid, sister Ardis, niece and Goddaughter Audrey; and many other dear family and friends. She is survived by her four children and five grandchildren: Wendy Webster (Candace Leonard), Kirby Webster, Joni Webster (Koz St. Christopher), and Kyle (Jahan) Ketabchi; Dr. Bijan (Paige) Ketabchi, Kelcie (Steven)Newell, Dr. Sheida Ketabchi, Derek Webster and Alynor Webster. She is also survived by her nephew John (Judy) Marquette, and former daughter-in-law Connie Webster. Family will be forever grateful to caregivers Gail, Wendy and Julie, and to the staff of Mason Christian Village.
We look forward to sharing stories and memories at a memorial service to be held on January 21, 2023. Friends may greet the Webster family at St. Mark’s, starting at 10 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Reception will follow. Ruby's family would appreciate receiving your written special memories of her. These may be directed to Wendy at [email protected]. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church (456 Woodman Dr, Dayton, OH 45431) or Doctors Without Borders
