Ruby Jean Bailey was born May 28, 1922 to the late Charles Ernest and Anna Fern Walton. On September 21, 2013, Ruby went home to be with the Lord. Ruby was raised in Sabina, Ohio with two sisters, the late Alma Byrd, and the late Esther Holmes and her brother, Donald Walton. Later in life, Ruby’s family relocated to Washington Court House, Ohio to begin a new journey. Ruby attended Wilberforce College and became a licensed Cosmetologist. In 1949, Ruby married Joel Frank Bailey Sr. and relocated to Middletown, Ohio where they operated the family business, The Bailey Funeral Home. Four children were born from this marriage. Ruby Bailey was a member of Eleventh and Lincoln First Church of God, until her illness no longer afforded her the opportunity to attend. She was dedicated and devoted to her faith. Ruby loved her church family. As a member, she was an Usher, Organist and Trustee. Ruby, was preceded in death by her daughter, Alicia Jean Bailey and Grandson Duane Larent Bailey . She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Joelette ( Leslie) Fuller of Middletown, Joel Frank Bailey Jr. Tacoma, Washington, and Von Duane (Anita) of Portland, Oregon. She has 10 Grandchildren, Euolinda Bailey, Troy Bailey, Sherita Barrett, Robert Turner, Joel F. Bailey III, LaShawn Hargo, Tara Bailey, LeAnna White, Phillip Bailey and Kymyada Saloan. 14 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Special sons, Duane Douglas Bailey and Roderick (Kelly) Bailey, Special Granddaughters, Twila R. Favors, LaQuanda R. Kirk, of Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral Service at First Church of God, Washington Court House, Ohio. On Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1:00pm, with Rev. Lawrence Woodson Officiating. Interment to follow at Sabina Cemetery in Sabina, Ohio.
