Rose graduated from the Toledo School of Practical Nursing in 1986 and served as a LPN for 34 years. The vast majority of her career was spent with the VA of Ann Arbor, MI, the VA of Dayton, OH and various long term care facilities--most recently Gem City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her passion was taking care of her residents and her greatest reward was them loving her in return. Rose also befriended countless coworkers who loved her dearly like family and several referred to her as “Momma Rose.”
Rose loved her grandsons, Champ and Zay Zay, unconditionally and loved being called Grandma. Even though she couldn’t see them often, she enjoyed talking to them frequently. Hearing them say, “I love you, Grandma” melted her heart and soothed her soul. Rose was such a social butterfly and enjoyed getting together with family or close friends for lunch or dinner outings. She also loved to watch the old shows on TV Land--The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, Rifleman--and watching WWE WrestleMania. Rose had a deep love for country music. Her favorite artists include Conway Twitty, Alan Jackson, and Randy Travis but Elvis Presley was, by far, her favorite. Rose’s lifelong wish was to relocate to the beautiful state of Tennessee and visit Gatlinburg at least once. Rose is preceded in death by her mother Guila Maxine Benton; son Raymond Benton; daughter Jennifer Boone; and brother Charles Elwood Benton. Rose is survived by her daughter Totrina Mosley (John) and son Bruce Boone and 2 grandchildren: John Mosley II and Isaiah Mosley.
The Visitation will be 10-12pm with the Funeral Service to start at 12pm, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Burial in Byron Cemetery.
Please consider donations to the American Lung Association & Hospice of Dayton in Rose's name.
