Mildred Jewel West Sutton

Sutton, Mildred J., age 85, passed away Thursday, April 21st, 2016 surrounded by her family. Mildred was born in Brotherton, Tennessee on Friday, January 30th, 1931. She moved to Dayton, Ohio with her father and brothers as a young child. She enjoyed working with her dad in his grocery store located at Second Street and Webster and was an avid movie buff. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kettering. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Bertha West; a brother and his wife Andrew and Retha West; sister-in-law, Dora West; and by her son-in-law, Bill Palmer. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dow Sutton; daughters, Anita Palmer and Alicia Overman; brothers, Talmadge (Ernestine) West and Carl West; grandchildren, Mandi (Jason) Winkler, Tiffany (Ricky) Pigman, Billy (Audrey) Palmer and Chelsea Overman; great grandchildren, Ritchie Winkler, Alyssa Palmer, Bryan Palmer and Rhianna Pigman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Kettering, 3939 Swigart Road, Dayton, Ohio 45440. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in David’s Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio.
