Mary Lou's early years were spent in rural Kentucky, where she attended a one-room schoolhouse and enjoyed an adventurous childhood playing in the fields. At the age of 16, she began working as a nanny for small children, a role that took her to Middletown, Ohio. It was there, while caring for two boys, that she met her husband, Troy Hall.
In Middletown, Mary Lou and Troy had two daughters, Deana and Brenda. The family later relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. Later in life, Mary Lou married Earl Schroeder. Together, they enjoyed traveling and lived in various western states. Following Earl's passing, Mary Lou moved in with her daughter Deana and her family for many years, before eventually returning to Ohio to live with her daughter Brenda, where she cherished time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou found joy in waitressing, working in numerous restaurants where her regular customers would wait to be seated in her section. Her passions included reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, cooking, and caring for her loved ones. She was an active participant in Bible study and was known for her delicious cooking, especially her famous salsa.
Mary Lou never met a stranger and was always generous and caring to others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, remembered for her affectionate, patient, and empathetic nature. Her hardworking spirit was a testament to her role as a provider for her family.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks for the prayers and condolences received from friends and family during this difficult time. Mary Lou touched many lives and her memory and spirit will continue to live on through her family. She was truly one in a million.
