He was born July 11, 1947 to Lyman and Lorraine Lipscomb in Dayton, Ohio. Where he attended Dayton city schools. Where he met his wife Margaret A Lipscomb of 55 years.
He is preceded in death by is wife Margaret A. Lipscomb, his father Lyman P. Lipscomb, mother Lorraine Lipscomb, sister Joyce A. Beasley and great-granddaughter Vyktoria Matczak.
Larry was a loving and devoted husband father to three children Penny, Joann, and Larry Jr.
Larry served his country in the Vietnam War. He also enjoyed a career at Greater Dayton RTA for many years. After retiring he resided in Florida with his wife for the last 15 years.
He loved to travel and spoil his grandchildren. He enjoyed making Quilts, watching sports, and visiting family.
He is survived by his three children Penny (David) Hirn, Joann Cole, Larry (Amy) Lipscomb Jr.
Eight grandchildren Amanda Turlington, Ashley Hirn, Matthew Hirn, Kenny Matczak, Dawn(Mark) Bundy, Amber Lipscomb, Joseph Lipscomb, Emily(Thomas) Timberlake. Two great grandchildren Oliver Matczak, and Anastasia Daniel. Three brothers James (Doris) Lipscomb, William Lipscomb, Lyman Lipscomb, three sisters Mary Tudor, Deborah LaBlanc, Cynthia(David) Schmerber. And a sister-n-law Donna Lockwood.
There will be a visitation, Thursday, October 12 at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton – Xenia Road, Beavercreek from 4 pm – 7 pm. Funeral services will be 11:30 am, Friday, October 13 at the funeral home, with Pastor Scott Wells, First Baptist Church of West Carrollton presiding . Burial will follow in Dayton National Cemetery.
