After serving in the Army, Larry joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve, and began a career as a federal civilian at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He worked there for 26 years as the Video Teleconferencing Network Program Manager before retiring to spend time with family.
Larry was a big family man and adored his children and grandchildren above all else. He was so proud and supportive of his family and made an effort to make it to all of his children’s and grandchildren’s events. He also coached grade school soccer and freshman football at Carroll High School for 3 years. He was such a positive influence on so many young people and was a true role model to all of his grandchildren. Larry inspired those he met because of his deep rooted integrity, and the way he encouraged everyone to do their best. He was a gifted story teller with a great sense of humor who made all who met him smile. He truly demonstrated what the Apostle Paul called the "fruits of the Spirit", which are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.
Larry’s family would like to thank all their friends and family for their prayers and support during this difficult time. They also want to thank the nurses and staff at Kettering Medical Center taking great care of Larry up until the very end. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to the Kettering Health Foundation in Larry’s honor.
