Kenneth Eugene Poling, age 88, of Kettering, Ohio passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on April 21, 1936 in Newark, Ohio to the late Jacob and Gladys (Nee: Grossnickle) Poling.
Kenneth graduated from Patterson Co-op High School in 1955. He started his career at NCR Corp working as a quality control inspector. He later worked for F&G Tool and Die, Tipp Machine and Tool and retired from Miamisburg Mound. Throughout his career he received numerous awards.
Ken enjoyed attending high school athletic events, taking long walks in nature, and spending time with his family whom he loved so dearly.
Aside from his loving parents, Ken is preceded in death by his beloved wife of over forty eight years, Barbara (Nee: Hoover) Poling (who passed in 2005); his sister, Ruth Poling; son-in-law, David Bott.
He is survived by four loving daughters, Patricia (Steve) Jeffers of Huber Heights, OH, Sharon (Keith) Idol of Woodlands, TX, Cathy Bott of Columbus, OH, and Kendra (Gary) Owens of Fairfield, OH; his five grandchildren; Sarah, Ryan, Christian, Kenneth (Ashley), Makenzie; one great grandson, Kadin. He is also survived by numerous extended family and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home- Belmont Chapel (648 Watervliet Ave., Dayton 45420). A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
