Chris was born in Kettering, Ohio, to Kenneth and Hazel (Caudill) Jones, who had four total children, Shawn Jones, Chris (Tara) Jones, Jill (Bryan) Combs, and Jaime (Ryan) Barbieri.
Chris married the love of his life, Tara Jones on June 14, 2008, and they were married for 16 years. They had two beautiful daughters together, Kyleigh Jordyn Jones (age 14) and Kyndall Jane Jones (age 9).
Chris adored his daughters. He never missed a cheer competition, recital, father-daughter dance, or anything the girls were involved in. He was always in the front row, filming them proudly with a smile.
Chris had a passion for helping the elderly and disabled. In his career, he supported many nursing homes, alternative schools, and worked at both Greene and Clarke County Developmental Disabilities Centers for over 15 years.
Chris was one-of-a-kind. He was fun and humorous uncle we lovingly called “uncle Monk” never failing to make the family laugh at every occasion. He had a nickname for everyone. His nieces and nephews were Justin Jones (age 35), Cameron Combs (age 19), Kaylin Combs (age 15), and Luca Barbieri (age 10). He loved to joke around with them; and he never missed a game to cheer them on!
Chris was a loyal and faithful friend. Through fantasy football, rock concerts and the love of music and sports he held a tight bond with his friends. And everyone remembers his famous ‘Michael Jordan’ collection of shoes. He kept the same friends from grade school through high school and into adulthood. He was surrounded by his best friends Joe Schmidt, Rick Kerstetter, Dan Dever, and Jay Alexander even in his final moments.
Chris will always be remembered for his huge heart, loyalty, laughter and love he gave to everyone that knew him. We couldn’t have asked for a better son, brother, father, husband, uncle and friend to all. We will miss him every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents R.C. and Pearl, and his brother Shawn. He is survived by his wife, Tara, mom and Dad, Kenny and Hazel, daughters, Kyleigh and Kyndall, and his siblings, Jill Combs and Jaime Barbieri, and their families (Bryan, Cameron and Kaylin Combs, and Ryan and Luca Barbieri).
