Murial was born and raised in North Dakota, a graduate of Michigan High School, ND, and graduated from Concordia College, MN in 1955 with a BA in Early Education. She taught kindergarten, 1st grade and preschool throughout her life. She always said, “the little ones are my favorite.” She and Henry were married on Thanksgiving Day in 1953.
After Henry graduated from North Dakota State University, he was in ROTC, the “adventure” began. He served as an officer in the Air Force for 4 years and then after 35 years retired from Unisys Corporation. The family lived throughout the US, Japan and Iran; we believe there were over 18 different moves. But throughout it all they joined Lutheran churches wherever they were, Murial’s faith kept her positive and loving life. Murial always said, “Remember where you have been & look forward to the next adventure.”
She enjoyed exercising, dancing, being with her family, especially the grandchildren, playing bridge, being active in the church, volunteering and she always wanted to help those in need.
In June of 2023 she moved to Beavercreek, OH to receive the care that she needed. A special thanks to Brookdale Beavercreek and Vitas Hospice. The nurses and aides worked their magic to keep her as happy and involved as she could be. Peace Lutheran Church in Beavercreek, Pastor Steve and Pastor Carey embraced her and provided the spiritual care she needed after living in California for 47+ years and moving to Ohio.
A service will be at Brookdale Assisted Living with Pastor Carey and pianist Linda Hill-Lally presiding. A service will also be in CA in the future. Memorial contributions can be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 3530 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432 or Vitas Hospice 3055 Kettering Blvd. Suite 400 Dayton OH 45439. Murial will eventually join husband Henry and her in-laws at Silent Hill Cemetery in Aneta, ND.
