Joseph Washington Jr. age 78, left us to go on to a better place with his Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Wright Patterson AFB. He was born September 6th, 1941 in Belle Rose, LA. the son of Joseph and Lilly Washington. He was a 26 year veteran of the Air Force where he was involved with fire safety as MSGT and a supervisor with the Fire Dept. Joseph retired from the service in 1987 with an honorable discharge. He continued in the safety field working for Teikuro in Springfield, Ohio. Joseph was a member of Overlook Church of Christ in Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Leatrice R. Washington; his son James Washington; a sister Earline Washington; nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Aline Jackson and Joyce Williams; a brother-in-law Larry Graves; three grandchildren, Dallas Washington, Jayla Washington and Trenity Hayes; a great grandchild Hailey Washington. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday December 12, 2019 at Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Preacher Walter Tolley officiating. Visitation will precede the funeral at 11:30 a.m.
