KORDIK, John P., age 91 years old, April 30, 1927 - May 4, 2018. John is a well-loved father, grandfather and friend. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and resided in Dayton for the last 60 years. He enjoyed music; and as a young child learned violin; as a young adult he sang in the church choir, and in his later years learned to play the keyboard. He also enjoyed tending to his fruit trees, vegetables and flowers. He led a very active life enjoying sports such as golf and bowling. He took up painting which kept him motivated during his senior years. John retired from business management 26 years ago from E.F. MacDonald Company. As an avid life learner and perpetual student, he began to study Mind Power, both Conscious and Subconscious. He was an expert in the positive thought process, psychological and inspirational theories and principles. For several years he taught classes in the Senior Adult Education Program at the University of Dayton in Ohio on “How to feel good about yourself and create your own destiny”. He had a passion for travel and would travel with Sea Angels, where he would also speak on positive ways to put more into your life. John was an attuned Reiki Master / Practitioner / Teacher and also did Chakra Energy Balancing. He held certificates in Quantum Touch, Basic Acupressure and Hypnosis. He believed and lived each day with the power of positive thought, a strong faith and a good sense of humor. He enjoyed life every day and wanted to “wear out, not rust out”. He was a strong family man and unconditional in his love and support of his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie, infant sons, Phillip J. and Phillip G. and son John Jr. He is survived by daughter, Mary (Tom) Fitzgerald of Bellbrook, Ohio and sons, Paul (Joyce) Kordik of Louisville, KY, James (Kamela) Kordik of Dayton, Ohio, Michael (Wendy) Kordik of Dayton, Ohio. Grandchildren: Alex, Christine, Katie, Andrew, Elizabeth, Emily, Channing, Jameson, Flor de Maria, Matthew, Miguel, Jacob and Allison. He may be lost from our sight, yet remains in our hearts always. Friends may call from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Tobias Funeral Home Far Hills Chapel.
