My deepest condolences to Janice’s family and friends. I met Janice in a job interview many years ago. She was an impressive professional and very personable. I immediately hired her for a coding position. I was sad to see her go when she eventually moved out of state but happily, we would cross paths again.  We met again at a state cancer registry meeting and had a laugh that we had both gone into this same new field in the interim.  She had been in it longer, I was new and very overwhelmed. She went out of her way to encourage and mentor me. We always met up at the national and state conferences and had a lot of laughs. Once we shared a hotel room and stayed awake into the wee hours talking about our families and pups. She loved you all so much. We shared becoming grandmas and crafting ideas together. I even got into the makeup biz for a while with her!  I will miss getting her sweet homemade cards and I will miss her. Even with her fiery side she was still a gentle spirit.

I was honored to be a student of Janice in the HIM program at Sinclair Community College for many classes and I always respected her straightforward, yet insightful approach to teaching--these qualities have made me a better HIM professional.  May you rest in glory Mrs. White, thank you for your passion and commitment to the HIM profession and your students!

I remember the first time I met Janice. I had signed up for her class, “The Cancer Registry” at Sinclair Community College. She walked in talking and she was fascinating and very knowledgeable about the subject. She made the class enjoyable and interesting. She was very inspiring; a truly great health information professional. It was an honor to have been taught by her. She became such a very nice friend to me. 

We were so lucky to be with my mom during her final days to say our goodbyes, hug her and tell her we loved her. This photo is from our last family vacation in August 2021 and although it doesn't look like it, she was in a lot of pain. She was one hell of a fighter.

She gave all she had to be an amazing mom and grandma. She taught me how to be a strong, independent woman who doesn't take crap from anybody. And she called me on my crap more times than I can count. She had the best, full-belied laugh around and I loved being the one to coax it out of her. She was in the stands for almost every one of my cheer and dance team performances and was often in the backroom helping us girls with our hair and makeup or feeding us snacks. She loved taking me shopping or to the nail salon and spending all of her hard-earned money spoiling me, and then later, my kids, even when I protested that we didn't need any more stuff. And she taught me how to make a mean bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. I'm sad she won't be around to see the kids graduate or get married. But I'm glad we got to go to the beach, enjoy margaritas and dip our toes in the sand one last time together. The ocean was her happy place.

I love you, Mom. Keep watching over us. ❤️

Janice was a beautiful person inside and out. Had the opportunity to get to know Janice over the past several years and always enjoyed  our little chats. She will be missed but not forgotten. RIP my dear friend. 

It truly is hard to believe that I’ve just lost my best friend and soulmate after being married for almost 42 years. We dated an additional two years which puts us at about 44 years together as a couple. 

I met Janice in college. She was so pretty and had such a pretty smile, and of course these traits are what initially attracted me to her. But after I got to know her better, she was more than just a pretty face. She was an independent thinker and opinionated on subjects that were near and dear to her. If you struck a nerve or poked the bear (as I would say to her), she would snap right back at you and give her strong position on the subject. I loved that saucy personality. She instilled qualities of independent thinking, determination, strength and not tolerating someone acting in and unfair way with you, to our daughter. 

Janice attacked cancer the same way she would attack someone who made a comment she did not agree with. I stood by her for two plus years of treatments, tests and doctor appointments. She stayed strong in her fight with this horrible disease.

I loved her very much, I’m sad she’s gone, and I will miss her, but it’s comforting to know she’s no longer in pain and with the Lord, her father, brother and sister.

Janice and I were faculty colleagues at Sinclair College for many years.  She taught enthusiastically and served as a mentor to many.  Time and distance can not erase the influence of a good teacher , so Janice will live on in the lives of all she touched.


I am so sorry. Janice was my Golden Heart pledge sister back in 1978. I really enjoyed reconnecting with her over Facebook!! What a good girl! Love ya Sis!

A beautiful lady inside and out who will make her home in Heaven and I am sure she may have some pointers for those in charge! 

For Pam and I it was always Bill and Janice, never just Boomer or never just Janice but Billy AND Janice. We will always have love for you in our hearts Janice, you are a very special lady and the glue that held "Team White" together.

Pam and I send our love and prayers to you Boomer and Vivian and your entire family at this time. We love you all and are always here for you to sit down, relax and talk. 

Go with God sweet lady and save us some spots at the table up there for our next dinner together.

I am so sorry for your loss and the whole family is in my thoughts this week. I want to share a little about what Janice meant to me. 

Janice was instrumental in my decision to pursue a career in cancer registry when she was my instructor at Sinclair Community College in the HIM program. I later was privileged to work alongside her as an instructor there and eventually our roles reversed and I was her manager when she returned to the cancer registry field. Her knowledge and dedication to her work, teaching and working in the field, impacted so many of us. 

I’ve attached a (slightly blurry) photo from April 2012 when Janice was with me as I accepted an award from the National Cancer Registrars Association as a new professional. The story behind this photo is that I found out that I was an award recipient and needed a hotel room. I had not planned to attend the national conference that year. Janice graciously offered for me to share her room since she had a double and it allowed me to be there in person to accept this. The irony is that I wouldn't have gotten if it hadn't been for her in school encouraging me to pursue what she recognized was so passionate in me at the time. 

She will be missed. 

Our condolences to Bill, Vivian, and family.  Janice was one of the nicest people God ever graced us to know.   She was a great wit always with a smile and kind word.  May God recevive her home and grant peace to her family.

I will always remember the time we spent together in California and the love kindness and strength  for her daughter and family that I’ve been so privileged to be a part of all these years. May you rest in eternal peace and may perpetual light shine upon you always. Sending love and healing prayers to Bill and Vivian and your family at this time. ❤️❤️

I went to WVIT college with Janice back in the late 1970s.  We were both members of a Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity where we would dance all night to Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores.  I think I sang at hers and Bill’s wedding.  Oh Janice!! We will see each other again and we will be able to dance all night again!! ❤️
