Cincinnati, earning an Associate Degree in 1971, a Bachelor's Degree in 1972, and in 1976 a Master’s Degree in Urban Administration and Planning from Georgia State University. He then worked for the State of Maryland’s Planning Department. In 1978, he became the Co-President and later President of Moraine Materials Company, a ready-mix concrete company founded by his father in 1934. In 2010, he explored his artistic side by starting artisancast LLC, a fiberglass reinforced concrete company which produced custom concrete countertops, sinks, and table tops with great success.
George was an intelligent, confident, kind, and funny husband, father, uncle, grandfather, friend, and entrepreneur. He valued his community with his involvement in various non-profits that appreciated his leadership and business acumen. Among them are The Humane Society of Dayton, the Dayton Development Coalition, the Ohio Ready-Mix Concrete Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, Goodwill Easter Seals, Harman Elementary PTO, and Oakwood’s Budget Review Committee.
He was a past member of Sycamore Creek Country Club, NCR Country Club, and Dayton Country Club. He was an avid golfer with a single digit handicap and two holes-in-one. He coached his young daughters in soccer, T-ball, and basketball. He revered his position as Great Chief Gray Cloud in what was then known as the YMCA Indian Princess program.
