Mortel, Dorothy Jo, of Beavercreek, loving wife and mother, went to the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012. She was born in Chapel Hill, Tennessee on October 29, 1929, as the youngest of 7 children. She grew up in Nashville and then moved to the Dayton area where she lived for almost 60 years. She worked as a civilian employee at WPAFB for 20 years. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald of Beavercreek; daughter, Donna Mortel Evans and son-in-law, Chris Evans of Rockville, MD. Surviving nieces and nephews include Ann Conklin of Atlanta, GA, Barbara Silvis of Sheboygan, WI, Edwin Alsup of Murfreesboro, TN, John Ortiz of Nashville, TN, Donnie Burks of Springfield, OH, and Tommie Burks of Dayton, OH. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Nancy Nieson of Ocala, FL and Edna Burks of Nashville, TN. She and Don were members of St. Luke’s Catholic Church for over 50 years. Dorothy was a member of TWIG, CCL, and a neighborhood card club for decades. She loved the Cincinnati Bengals and Notre Dame football, trying her luck at casino slot machines and talking with genuinely friendly people. Always an optimistic person, she will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12:30-2:30 p.m. with funeral services to be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, December 19 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. with interment to follow in Mt.
