Donald Ray Smith

SMITH, Donald Ray age 86 passed away at Hospice of Dayton on January 20, 2021. Donald was born in South Shore, Kentucky on January 13, 1935 to parents Isaac Loteridge Smith and Eva S. Lawson Smith who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by wife, Barbara R. Smith; daughter, Angela Shawn Legros; brother, Clyde A. Smith; sisters Freda E Hayden, Alma Sexton, Norma Dillon and Lola Sexton. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Joy Lang Smith; children Blaine Alen Smith; step-children Doug Meadows, Mike Meadows, Cathy Peebles, and Jackie Harris; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donald was a faithful man of God who drove a church bus for 30 years which included Dayton Baptist Temple and Victory Baptist Church. Over the years, Donald had several jobs of which the most prominent was as a delivery driver. He delivered for Mendenhall/Capital Cleaners and finally finished his delivery career working for Lofino’s Grocery. A visitation will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road in Beavercreek, Ohio. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Gary Favor presiding. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery – Dayton, Ohio.
