Cheryl was such a wonderful advocate for the children in Dayton Public Schools. She was full of energy and always so kind and thoughtful to everyone around her.  She always had a smile and handled even the most difficult challenges with great professionalism. May she rest in peace and know she made a difference in the lives of children and adults around her. 

Cheryl was a dear friend and mentor; I was honored to have worked with her.  She was a dedicated advocate for the “least of these” children of Dayton Public Schools.  She made a difference  in my life ...and so many others.  I was blessed beyond words by her kindness.  

Director Owens was always the calmest person in a contentious meeting, kindest glance in a time of crisis, and most thoughtful sharer during a problem-solving session. She dedicated her life to improving the lives of others, and will be missed more than a single post could convey.
