SERGEANT, Carolyn Rose (Hagerty), 91, of Largo, FL passed away October 20, 2017. She was born December 31, 1925 to Hayden Lucus and Mary Beckman Lucus. Carolyn was a graduate of Our Lady of Rosary Grade School, Patterson Co-Op High School Class of 1944 and Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She was a former employee of Dayton Power and Light Company for 25 years, a career she thoroughly enjoyed. She held the office of Midwestern Industrial Nurse President for 8 years, she also served with distinction in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corp. She had an incredible spirit with a passion for dancing and traveling the world. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Raymond Earl Hagerty. She is survived by her husband, Wilfred Sergeant of 19 years, four sons Edward Raymond (Sandra Focht), Richard Earl, Scott Anthony, Daniel Carl (Nancy); five grandchildren Sean (Nancy), Christopher, Morgan, Madison and Jared; two great grandchildren Aidan and Max; and one sister Frances Raycroft. She was also predeceased by two grandchildren, four brothers and five sisters.
The family will be receiving visitors at Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH 45429 on Thursday November 2nd 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, 2300 Smithville Road, Dayton, OH 45420 at 10:30 am on Friday November 3rd followed by a graveside service at Bellbrook Cemetery, 3939 Upper Bellbrook Road; Bellbrook, OH 45305.
