Mrs Carolyn J. Friedman Jacobs

Carolyn Jane [Friedman] Jacobs, age 95, was carried from this life to the next in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Born in Dayton, Ohio on February 7, 1916, as a young woman, Carolyn worked at Bomberger Recreation Center, marrying John [Barney] Jacobs in her late twenties. Together, she and Barney raised their children and enjoyed their grandchildren until his passing in 1981. Carolyn trusted Christ and attended East Park Church of God for many years. As her health declined, she found comfort in reciting numerous Scriptures from memory. John 14:27 states the words of Jesus: “My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Carolyn is survived by her children and their spouses: Dixie and Jerry Archer , Ava and Ken Laws, and John and Pam Jacobs; her grandchildren: Jeffrey Archer, Cindy Archer, Bryan and wife Deanne Jacobs, Michael Jacobs, Nicholas Jacobs, and one great-grandchild, Skylar Archer. Also surviving Carolyn are her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Ruth Jacobs. Carolyn’s love, her energetic personality, and her sense of humor will be sorely missed. Her family would like to thank the staff of Walnut Creek Nursing Center for their loving care during Carolyn’s stay; “You’re the BEST!” Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver on Monday evening from 5:30 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 with Pastor Robert Foote officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420 in Carolyn’s memory.
