Brad Riegel Lanich Jr., 35 of Kettering passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, October 21, 2023. Brad was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 31, 1987 and was a 2006 graduate of Beavercreek High School. He attended Wright State University where he was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He was employed at Costco. Brad had a larger than life personality with an infectious smile, an incredible sense of humor, and a kind and generous heart with a warmth that was like a magnet drawing people in. He was often referred to as a Gentle Giant. Brad was a bartender and had some formal culinary training, but was mostly a self-taught chef who loved hosting parties for his closest friends and mastering his private selections of hot sauces aptly named “Brad’s Awesome Sauce.” He was an avid fan of horror movies and analyzing their content, and was proud to cohost his podcast “Horrormongers.” He also loved music, attending concerts, and playing a plethora of games with his closest friends. He leaves behind a large void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Brad was preceded in death by his father, Brad R Lanich, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Susan (Miller) Lanich, sister and brother-in-law, AmberLeigh (Casey) Mills, nieces Ashleigh, Aleigha and Bayleigh, a host of Aunts, Uncle, cousins and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 5 - 7 pm at Tobias Funeral home, Beavercreek.
