Amy is survived by her beloved children, Grady, Gracie and Casey; her husband, Joe; her parents, Sandy and John Ameling and Tim and Sandy Hays; her sister, Meredith Milbourn (Mike); her nieces, Annie and MacKenzie Milbourn, and nephew Max Milbourn; her half-brother, Andrew Hays; her step-children, Joe (Elsie), Courtney and Blake; step-grandmother to Marleigh, Winnie and Henry.
Amy was born on February 13, 1968 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She happily grew up in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attended St. Dominic and St. James Elementary Schools and McAuley High School. Amy attended the University of Dayton where she received a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Education and a Master’s Degree. She went on to pursue education in many aspects in Oakwood City Schools, where she impacted the lives of hundreds of students. In addition, she was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dayton.
Amy was a loving mother, friend and role model to many in her community. Her hospitality was appreciated and received by countless friends and family. Amy didn’t know a stranger. She will be remembered for her generosity and kindness to those who knew her.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 28th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429. A Mass will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 29th, 2021.
