Passed away on May 3, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born on Nov. 9, 1928 in Coulee City, WA to Edwin and Theo Mickelsen. She grew up in the Coulee City area and graduated from Coulee City High School. She married Eugene “Gene” Kelley on October 22, 1947 in Wilbur, WA. Shirley and Gene farmed in the Hartline/ St. Andrews area for many years and raised their family. After Gene retired in 1995 they moved to Wilbur, WA. Shirley was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar society and was a past board member of the Wilbur Cemetery Association. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and hosting holiday meals and spending time with her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her two daughters Debbie (Mark) DeHaven and Lisa (Loren) Peha along with nine grandchildren Emerson, Whitney, Nick, Byron, Nathan, Hunter, Rachel, Hailey and Skye along with six great grandchildren Taylor, Cyla, Adalynn, Jackson, Owen and Logan. One brother Duane Mickelsen and several nieces and nephews. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Gene in 2013, daughter and son in law Connie and Tom Behne, infant son Gary Eugene and son Daniel Kelley. Rosary services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wilbur, WA followed by a Memorial mass on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Father Rory Pitstick, Officiating. Inurnment Graveside will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Hartline Cemetery, Hartline, WA. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wilbur or Hartline Cemetery Associations.
