Passed away November 23, 2015, she was born on December 5, 1941 in Dayton, WA to Murlin and Wilma Gates. She grew up in Dayton and graduated from high school in Harrington,WA., and attended college at EWU. She is survived by he four sons Jon (Michelle) Overmyer, Leon (Jinny) Overmyer, Troy Overmyer and Bubba (Aubrey) Gralapp along with eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Sisters Debbie, Sheila, Tanya and Norma and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Merle Walters and sister Nancy. She is a member of the Reardan Methodist Church, Honorary chapter farmer Reardan FFA, served on the Reardan Mule day’s committee for many years and was also citizen of the year. Mother advisor for Rainbow girls and taught swim lessons for many years. Marlene worked at the Reardan-Edwall School for 20 years as office secretary, before going to work for the Lincoln County Auditor’s Office where she was the Administrative secretary for the Lincoln County Commissioners before retiring and then going to work at Northern Quest Casino where she was the Administrative secretary for 5 years before retiring. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Reardan Methodist Church, Reardan, WA with Pastor Larry Anderson, officiating. In Lieu of flowers Marlene would like memorial donations to be made to the Reardan FFA Scholarship fund or to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
