To the family,  I enjoyed Don's comments (Donnie in my world) on the Marlin School Group on Facebook.  I believe he was in the graduating class with my uncle who lived with us for awhile, Gottlieb Speck--I seem to remember his graduating picture on my uncle's dresser.  Dale Pfeifer was also in the group, right?  At that time I was VERY young but I remember I always thought of Don[nie] as being so good looking.  Did he always have those twinkly eyes? Suddenly he was missing from Facebook.  I'm sorry for your family's loss.  LaVern Janke Strawn, East Wenatchee.

My Grandpa was one of the hardest working man I have ever known. He had the kindest soul. I’ll never forget the days watching him out in the garden, mowing the lawn, working out in the field or in the shop, putting up Christmas lights, the list goes on. He knew how to fix everything. I think about the days he showed up to our school events, our sports games, he was always around. I’ll never forget his stories he shared over holiday dinners, he was always the star of the show. I will forever miss him. I love you, Grandpa.
