Walter E. “Wally” Quick, 85, of Davenport, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport. Funeral services will be Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:30 am at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-5 pm at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Walter was born April 22, 1926 in Walker, MN; the son of Raymond E. and Amanda (Lahl) Quick. He was united in marriage to Elsie I. Levetzow on May 17, 1947 in Davenport. Wally was a house-to-house milkman for Model Dairy for nineteen years and then went to work for the City of Davenport in the street department retiring in 1987.
Wally was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport Moose and AARP. In his free time, they loved to travel with Tri State Tours having been to every state except one; he also loved to ballroom dance and go to the Rhythm City Riverboat. Wally was a kind and loving husband who with his wife cherished his special nieces and nephews.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Elsie, Davenport, brother, Melvin, Davenport and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Orlyn and Charles and sisters, Betty Lou Quick and Emma Reese.
