Walter W. Doyle

Walter W. Doyle, 83, of Davenport passed away at his home on March 9, 2016, following an extended illness. Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 4209 W. Locust Street, Davenport. Visitation will be from 10-11 am, Saturday at the church. A committal service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at the Runge Mortuary by 1:30 pm, Friday. Vietnam Veterans Chapter 299 will provide military honors. Walter was born in Boston, MA and served in both the US Army and Air Force. He married Patricia A. Winkler on April 18, 1973. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an electronic technician. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, was an avid reader and played the guitar.

Survivors include his wife Patricia; children James (Tish) Doyle, Ann (Sean) Winkler, Thomas Doyle, Christina (Kevin) McCallister and Michael Doyle; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, a brother and three children: Joyce, Wesley and Diane.
